It’s not April 1st so this must be true!

Electronic taste could allow television viewers to sample cookery show creations – the only thing is they have yet to deal with ‘smell’ (but they are on the case) which must be by far the most important factor in identifying particular foods.

Did you ever do that thing at school where you were blindfolded with your fingers over your nostrils and then tasted different things? The result was that you could distinguish tastes like salt, sweet, sour and bitter, but nothing else. Nigella seems to be making risotto in the photo, so I don’t think it’s going to work right now.
